Biography of the Principals

Welcome Back!

 

   

Here is a little introduction to your principal and assistant principal.

Mr. Vogelmann, LJS Principal, is beginning his second year at the helm of LJS.  Prior to this positon, he served as the Assistant Principal at East High School since 2002.  He holds a Bachelors of Science in mathematics from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a Masters of Educational Administration from Xavier University.  “Robb will be a wonderful leader for this school and his ability to work with staff and our students is impressive,” remarked Superintendent Mike Taylor.  Mr. Vogelmann is not new to LJS. He taught mathematics at Liberty Jr. School from 1997 to 2002.

Mr. Ken Martin is beginning his 19th year at Liberty Junior School.  He is proud of his loyalty and commitment to Lakota School District.  He is a graduate of Lakota High School.   Ken originally joined the LJS family as a teacher of social studies.  During his teaching career he also coached football and basketball at both the junior and varsity levels.
This will be Ken’s 15th year as the assistant principal of Liberty Junior School.  During these years he has led LJS to receive such awards as the coveted National Blue Ribbon Award, Ohio Component Award for Student Recognition and Staff Development.
He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Indianapolis and followed with a Master’s Degree from Miami University.  Ken continues his professional growth and administrative experience by working with Wright State University and currently sits on the middle child advisory board at the University of Cincinnati.  Additionally, he is an active member of the Ohio Middle Level Association.  During the summer of 2009, Ken was elected as a United States Ambassador to the Chinese Bridge Delegation.  He spent two weeks as guest of the Chinese Department of Education which allowed him to work collaboratively with leading educators in Beijing and Hangzho, China.
