Lakota Local Schools serves West Chester and Liberty Townships in southeastern Butler County, 25 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.
Lakota is the seventh largest public school district in Ohio, with over 17,000 students in twelve elementary schools, four junior schools, a freshman school, and two high schools.
The district is known for academic excellence. Because of its reputation, the student population has grown an average of 500 students per year for the past eleven years.
Lakota residents support the schools. In the past ten years, they have voted to approve construction of eight new schools, and have passed several operating levies.
Lakota Local Schools offers an environment in which teachers are encouraged to grow and excel.
Professional development opportunities are available throughout the year both within the schools and district wide. Mentor programs pair new teachers with experienced teachers, and all certificated staff have tuition reimbursement available.
STUDENT SUCCESS
Lakota students scored higher than any other district in Butler County on the Ohio Ninth Grade Proficiency and in the top eight schools in the Greater Cincinnati area. Lakota students are known state-wide and nationally for their accomplishments in journalism, mathematics, foreign language, music, and athletics.
