The Lakota Local School District Board of Education and the Lakota Education Association (LEA) are pleased to announce that together they have reached a Tentative Agreement on a new collective bargaining contract.
Lakota and the LEA reached a tentative agreement on July 19th, 2010 with the assistance of a Federal Mediator.
In accordance with state collective bargaining practice and law, both parties are prohibited from releasing details of the agreement until it is ratified by the LEA and the Board of Education.
The Board of Education and LEA believe that all parties worked in good faith to reach an agreement that is fair and that is sensitive to and addresses the challenging economic times facing the schools. The agreement is a positive step forward for the district and both parties are excited for the start of a new school year.
